The Global Bhutanese Organization-GBO has decided to hold its 4th Annual Convention 2024 in the city of Reynoldsburg, Central Ohio, United States, this year, on Saturday, August 31, 2023. The event is jointly being hosted by the Bhutanese Community of Central Ohio-BCCO, Kirat Community of Central Ohio-KCCO and, supported by the other local organizations.
The event hall is being sponsored by Himalayan Care Center and the event sponsors are Medina Home Healthcare LLC, Fashion Bazaar Wholesale Hazaar, Solo1 Medical Transportation LLC, and many more.
To spearhead and accomplish the task of holding this convention, the GBO has formed the Convention Program Organizing Committee at the State & National level led by DB Rai, Mitra Subedi, Dharmindra Timsina, Sudarshan Pyakurel, BB Poudyel, Arjun Rasaily, Kashi Adhikari , Megh Nath Adhikari, Devasish Poudyel, Kul Chemdong, DK Yamphu, Raju Libang, RB Khadka, Sabin Dhimal, Santa Lama, Raman Dhimal, DB Adhikari, Goma Mishra, Toya Acharya, Raja Pradhan, Biswaz Gurung, Denzome Sampang, Chandra Sitaula, Bhagat Rai, Binay Luitel, Migmar Tamang, Kubir Tiwari, Som Dhakal, Jhalak Adhikari, Ashok Gurung, Bhim Gurung, Taran Tiwari, Bishnu Khadka, Ganga Tiwari, Harka Subba, Draupadi Pradhan, Shiva L Dahal, Indra Gurung, Deepak Giri, Purna Rai ( Ranju Rai ), Shanta Monger, Arjun Pradhan, Janga Kalikotey, Mukesh Gurung, Jagannath Adhikari, Ranjit Pradhan, and Anand Bista.
The Convention Program Organizing Committee will reach out to community organizations, local government representatives, business entrepreneurs, donors, artists, and community members through various means and media with its program details and invitation for the convention as early as possible for the initial promotion of the event.
The Event attractions are GBO Project Presentation, Annual Reporting, Fundraising for Refugee Children’s Education, Nutrition, Healthcare, and GBO relief support programs operating in the Bhutanese refugee camps in Beldangi, Damak, Jhapa and Pathari Sansischare, Morang, Nepal, GBO Countries, States and Cities updates, Cultural Presentation by our emerging Bhutanese & Nepalese artist, honoring GBO’s donors, partnering organizations, volunteers, sponsors, State host activities, and more.
The Global Bhutanese Organization-GBO in collaboration with the eight resettled Bhutanese Communities, in Australia, Canada, Denmark, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, The UK, and the USA, has been facilitating financial and resource support for Early Childhood Education Program, ECDC Beldangi, Shree Batika Bal Bikash Kender, Pathari Sanischare Camp, Healthcare service, disaster management & relief support programs from 2020.
So far, GBO has funded over 18.8 million Nepalese Rupees for GBO initiative humanitarian projects operating in the camps with the help of consolidated generous contributions from its partnering organizations of Bhutanese Diaspora Communities ( GBO-USA, 14,047,345 NPR, GBO-Denmark,1,655,651 NPR, GBO-Canada, 1,005,272 NPR, GBO-Australi,1,325,779 NPR, GBO-UK,423,007 NPR, GBO-New Zealand,269,792.93 NPR and GBO-Netherlands,132,111 NPR ), stakeholders, donors, and every individual.
After the resettlement of Bhutanese refugees, this is the first time in history, that more than 70 profit, Non-profit, business organizations, faith base & cultural organizations, and many individuals helping hands have extended their solidarity and financial support to GBO initiative projects.
GBO Current Projects under operation:
1. Early childhood education to 300 children ages 3-7 years going in 2 schools namely ECDC Beldangi School and Shree Batika Bal Bikash Kendra School in Pathari Sanischare camp. Grades include playgroup, Nursery, Kindergarten, and Grade One.
2. Children Nutrition Program.
3. Health Care.
4. Providing employment opportunities for 24 working staff in Jhapa & Morang, Nepal.
5. Provided relief support to many vulnerable families during a disaster and grieving situations in camp on various occasions.
